Business continuity software (BCM software) is where your business impact analysis, continuity and recovery plans, exercises and audit evidence will live for years. Yet the category lumps together very different products: full continuity platforms, enterprise GRC suites, IT disaster recovery tools and crisis alerting systems.
This comparison reviews 13 products sold in Europe and North America. Every statement comes from the vendor's own page or a public source listed at the end, checked on 25–26 October 2026. When a vendor does not publish something (price, hosting), we say so instead of guessing.
Disclosure: this article is published by ResiPlan, which is one of the products listed. We applied the same grid to everyone, ourselves included, and we do not rank the products: the right tool depends on your size, sector and obligations.
Key takeaways
- A complete BCM tool covers at least the BIA, plan authoring, exercises and evidence. Several products listed as "business continuity" in directories only do IT recovery or alerting.
- The large international platforms (Fusion, Riskonnect, Everbridge, Archer) target enterprises and do not publish prices.
- European buyers have more choice than a few years ago: GlobalSuite, ResiPlan, Continuity2 and French vendors such as MAPSI cover the full cycle.
- Check three things before signing: where data is hosted, exit (full export), and whether the BIA, plans and exercises are linked in one model.

How we compared
We used the criteria that separate a continuity tool from a shared spreadsheet:
- ISO 22301 lifecycle coverage: BIA, strategies, plans, exercises, review and improvement.
- Linked objects: a BIA that feeds the plans, exercises whose findings flow back into the plan.
- Transparency: published price, declared hosting and sub-processors.
- Fit for European regulation: NIS2 and DORA coverage, EU hosting.
For the method itself, see our 8-step business continuity plan guide.
Enterprise platforms
Fusion
Fusion (Fusion Risk Management) describes itself as "enterprise resilience software" trusted by "400+ global banks, manufacturers, healthcare systems, and retail leaders". Its continuity page covers BIA data capture, adaptive plans, exercises and scenario testing, crisis and incident management and IT disaster recovery. The vendor lists DORA and ISO 22301 among supported regulations; NIS2 does not appear on that page. The platform is built on Salesforce. There is no trial, but a self-guided product tour. ResiPlan vs Fusion.
Riskonnect (including Castellan)
Riskonnect acquired Castellan in 2022. Its continuity module covers continuity planning, impact analysis, resilience exercises, gap analysis and mobile incident management, with "out-of-the-box alignment with ISO 22301"; emergency notification and crisis management are separate products. It is one of the few vendors with a public price point: £30,000 per instance per year on the UK government G-Cloud 14 catalogue, hosted on Azure with a customer-selectable location (UK, EEA or other). ResiPlan vs Riskonnect.
Everbridge BC in the Cloud
BC in the Cloud, acquired by Everbridge in July 2024, "automates and streamlines business continuity and disaster recovery programs": BIA with templates, plans, tests and exercises, risk assessment and a response dashboard, with mass notification through Everbridge 360. The UK public catalogue listing states data is stored and processed in the EEA and mentions a limited free trial. ResiPlan vs Everbridge.
Mitratech Preparis
Mitratech acquired Preparis in October 2024, after RecoveryPlanner and BOLDplanning in 2021. The suite combines a planner with guided BIA and templates, tabletop exercises, a virtual war room and alerts on six channels. ISO 22301, DORA and NIS2 are not mentioned on the product page, and pricing is not published. Not to be confused with "Mitratech Continuity", a financial-services compliance product.
Noggin
Noggin, acquired by Motorola Solutions in July 2024, offers a guided BIA, plan authoring, exercises and scenario testing, crisis and incident management and alerting, with templates "based on ISO standards". Pricing comes as a sales estimate. ResiPlan vs Noggin.
Archer
Archer (acquired by Cinven in 2023) handles business continuity and IT disaster recovery inside its risk platform: a BIA repository, continuity and recovery plans, test results, incidents escalating to crisis events and call trees. It runs as SaaS or on-premises; its pricing page shows no figures. ResiPlan vs Archer.
Quantivate
Quantivate, an Ncontracts company since December 2023, focuses on US credit unions and banks: BIA, plan editor and templates, scenario-based exercises, crisis plan templates and emergency notification. Of limited relevance for European buyers.
European and mid-market options
GlobalSuite Business Continuity
Spanish vendor GlobalSuite covers "from the BIA to continuity and recovery plans, with tests and exercises that leave an audit trail", with ISO 22301 and ISO 27031 preloaded, DORA and NIS2, and crisis management. Its trust centre states hosting in European regions. Pricing on request.
ResiPlan
ResiPlan, published by a Belgian company, keeps the BIA (sector-seeded processes, RTO and MTPD calculation, campaigns to process owners), 8 plan types including disaster recovery and crisis management, exercises whose findings become tracked corrective actions, and an evidence pack mapping ISO 22301 clauses 4 to 10, NIS2 Article 21 and DORA in one data model. Consultants get one isolated workspace per client.
- Price: from €199 per month excl. VAT, billed annually (Essentials, up to 10 users); free 7-day trial, no credit card.
- Hosting: database in Ireland (Convex EU deployment on AWS), web servers at OVHcloud in France.
- Caveat: like any software, ResiPlan certifies no one and does not make you "compliant"; it structures and evidences the work your team does.
Module details: ResiPlan business continuity software.
Continuity2
UK vendor Continuity2 presents its software as covering BIA, plan management, exercise and scenario testing, risk and incidents. Prices and hosting are not published.
ParaSolution (Premier Continuum)
Canadian vendor Premier Continuum's ParaSolution covers BIA, risk analysis, plan development and activation, exercises, and incident tracking with notification. Support is offered in English, French, Spanish and German. Pricing is "customised to the size of your organisation"; hosting is on AWS, region not stated.
MAPSI and Iskera
For French-speaking organisations, MAPSI (OLING, near Paris) covers BIA with RTO/RPO, IT dependency mapping, continuity and recovery plans, tests and evidence; Iskera covers BIA, plans, exercises and test history within a management-system suite. Neither publishes prices or hosting on its product page.
Adjacent tools that are not full BCM software
Some products appear in "business continuity software" listings without covering BIA, plans and exercises:
- SafetyCulture, now rebranded Mitti, is an operations and inspection platform with business continuity plan templates (free plan up to 10 seats; Premium $24 per seat per month billed annually).
- DRP Safe is an IT disaster recovery planning tool for small businesses, hosted in France (€99.99 per month or €999.99 per year).
- Nuabee is a managed cloud backup and disaster recovery service, priced per server.
If you only need IT recovery, our disaster recovery plan guide helps scope it first.
How to choose
- Small, single-site organisation: a spreadsheet can carry a first version; see spreadsheet or BCM software?.
- Mid-size company in scope of NIS2: favour a vendor that publishes prices, hosts in the EU and links BIA, plans and exercises without an integration project; our guide to choosing BCM SaaS for SMEs lists the questions to ask.
- Financial entity under DORA: check annual testing support and the link with the ICT third-party register of information.
- Consultants and advisory firms: client isolation and reusable templates matter more than module count; see scaling business continuity engagements.
- Global enterprises: Fusion, Riskonnect or Archer fit a broader GRC programme, at the cost of a deployment project.
FAQ
What is the best business continuity software?
There is no single best product. An SME preparing for NIS2 does not need what a global bank under DORA needs. Compare lifecycle coverage (BIA, plans, exercises, evidence), how those pieces are linked, hosting, and total cost over three years.
How much does business continuity software cost?
Most vendors do not publish prices. Public price points found in October 2026: €199 per month (annual billing) for ResiPlan's entry plan, €99.99 per month for DRP Safe's SME offer (IT recovery focused), and £30,000 per instance per year for Riskonnect on the UK public catalogue.
What is the difference between BCM software and disaster recovery software?
BCM software runs continuity for the whole organisation: business impacts, strategies, plans, crisis management and exercises. Disaster recovery tools focus on restarting IT systems, often alongside backup or replication. Disaster recovery is one component of business continuity.
Is business continuity software required for ISO 22301, NIS2 or DORA?
No. These frameworks require capabilities (continuity, recovery, testing, evidence), not a tool. Software becomes worthwhile when the number of processes, dependencies and pieces of evidence makes manual upkeep too costly.
